Li Congrong has dedicated herself to advancing design thinking education for primary and secondary school students. Her teaching achievements have been honored with the Special Prize for Basic Education Teaching Achievements in Guiyang and the Second Prize in Guizhou Province. Her developed curriculum has been showcased nationwide by China Education Television (CETV-1) as a model for educational reform in China. She has proposed a comprehensive framework for youth design thinking education. The “Scientific Literacy Assessment Indicators for Primary and Secondary Students”, which she co-developed, was published as a key achievement of the “13th Five-Year Plan” project at the end of 2017. Her PBL course – “Building Mobile Cabin Hospital” has been adopted and implemented in 13 countries and regions worldwide. In 2018, she curated a United Nations exhibition themed on the “24 Solar Terms” and facilitated cultural and educational exchanges between young designers from China and the USA, earning the Outstanding Cultural Heritage Contribution Award.
Her co-authored books include Artificial Intelligence and Big Data , which won the First Prize for Science and Technology Publications in the Five Eastern Provinces of China. The STEAM series courses City Builders and Maker Artists were published by Shanghai Science and Technology Press. The series of textbooks of Design Thinking Cultivation was also published by Shanghai Science and Technology Press. She co-authored Design Thinking: Opening the Door to Innovation Education in Primary and Secondary Schools , published by Shanghai Science and Technology Education Press.
